THE W MAGAZINE and JAEGER-LE-COULTRE LEGENDARY FETE

In keeping with coverage of fashion’s most elite events, such as this seasons CFDA Awards, I was invited to last night’s W Magazine/Jaeger-LeCoultre Party, which was literally like another CFDA with it’s endless list of A-list guests from designers Jason Wu, Richard Chai, and Eddie Borgo to editors Anna Dello Russo, Giovanna Battaglia, and George Cortina.  The party was hosted in a mansion on West 54th and if there is one word to best describe the party it would be OPULENT.  It left me wondering if I was going to see a President, a Sheik, and an Oligarch all arrive together.

According to the Public Relations team from Jaeger-LeCoultre—the couture watch company that makes each piece by hand in Switzerland—Jaeger-LeCoultre was celebrating it’s new editorial direction.  While formerly being perceived as a product for men, they are now expanding efforts to appeal to a broader feminine audience.  This explains the people studying the two displays in the back room.

Meanwhile guests like Leandra Medine, better known as The Man Repeller and I had small talk about blogging.  Scott Lipps, Owner of One Model Management and I chatted about Fashion WEAK “sleep deprivation” and I even chatted with managers from IMG Models about how to develop a models “public relations” story.

On the model front, this party had enough A-list models for a top tier Paris Show.  Lithuanian model Edita Vilkeviciute was spotted chatting with Alexander Werz from Karla Otto.  British modeling legend Erin O’Connor and Dutch celebrity Doutzen Kroes partied upstairs while rising star Cara Delevingne was spotted in her usual good humor downstairs in the library.

Many thanks to all contributors to this party who made this A-list event a resounding success and best of luck to Jaeger-LeCoultre in their new endeavors into the world of feminine watch wear.
